The Minister of Information and Civil Education, Minister Chernor Bah clarified the president’s statement when he said “He can’t change Sierra Leone” during A.Y.V morning show.

The Minister started by Highlighting that he was present during the ceremony and stated that after his speech immediately the president made his statement. Noting that the context is very much clear.

He further highlighted that they have the most inclusive government in the history of Sierra Leone which he describes as a fact and not even a subject for debate, he further explained the context.

The Chief Justice is the youngest in the history of the country, the Attorney General is the youngest in the history of this country and the Minister of Information Seated here is the youngest in the history of this country, if you look across the board this is a president who said he wants to be a human capital development president, what that means he wants to invest in the young, Minister Bah explained.

He added that what the president said on that day was clear. Noting that it is because of the requirement of democracy that the president would wish to be here for 20 years but what he was saying was while he can’t stay to see the finish end, he takes comfort in knowing that he has invested and inspired young people that will take the torch forward.

Change is a continuity thing; change is not done by one person. The president is a Democrat, and he believes in that else he would say only he can do it and this is the first president we have had in a very long time in this country that had not encouraged any conservation about more time, Minister Bah concluded.
