The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sierra Leone has commenced onboarding sessions with implementing partners in Freetown and Makeni ahead of the rollout of the second cohort of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) under the EU-funded Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA).
The onboarding sessions are designed to prepare partners for the delivery of another round of practical skills training aimed at supporting returnees and vulnerable young people across Sierra Leone.
The programme seeks to equip beneficiaries with market-relevant technical and vocational skills that can improve their employability, strengthen their livelihoods and contribute to sustainable reintegration into their communities.
The second cohort builds on previous efforts by IOM and its partners to create opportunities for returnees and vulnerable youth to acquire practical skills that can support their economic independence and long-term reintegration.
Through the initiative, IOM Sierra Leone continues to promote skills development as an important pathway towards creating sustainable opportunities and rebuilding futures for vulnerable groups.
The organisation said the latest training represents another step towards expanding access to skills and livelihood opportunities for beneficiaries across the country.
