Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has held discussions with Trócaire Chief Executive Officer Sean Farrell on strengthening collaboration between the Government of Sierra Leone and the Irish international development organisation.
The meeting focused on deepening the existing partnership and aligning future initiatives with Sierra Leone’s national development priorities, particularly in areas such as gender equality, climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and community development.
During the engagement, Vice President Jalloh commended Trócaire for its continued support to vulnerable communities through partnerships with local civil society organisations and other institutions.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting multi-stakeholder partnerships that support inclusive growth, community empowerment, and sustainable development across the country.
For his part, Farrell reiterated Trócaire’s commitment to Sierra Leone, highlighting the organisation’s focus on locally led programmes aimed at strengthening community resilience, improving emergency response capacity, and empowering communities.
He thanked the government for its continued support and expressed Trócaire’s readiness to expand collaboration in support of shared development objectives.
Trócaire currently implements community-based programmes across five areas in Sierra Leone: Kambia, Bombali, Port Loko, Karene, and the Western Area Rural District.
