Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh who doubles as the Chairman of the Sierra Leone Police Council today Friday 17th September, 2021 commissioned the newly promoted senior officers of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) at an auspicious ceremony held at Kingtom Police Mess, Freetown.

The newly promoted officers ranking from Assistant Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners, to Assistant Inspector General of Police were decorated and unveiled with their respective epaulettes by the Vice President.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, VP Juldeh Jalloh congratulated the newly promoted senior officers and wished them well in their new endeavours and responsibilities in the SLP.

He said the SLP is going through transformation and the commissioning ceremony is not only to celebrate the promotion of the newly promoted officers but also to celebrate how far the New Direction government of President Bio has come in the last three years. He further pointed out the overwhelming commitment of government to the SLP to improve policing and internal security in the country.

VP Juldeh Jalloh disclosed that the government has committed to an annual 25% increase in salaries so that by 2023 the SLP could have secured up to 100% improved condition of service.
