Dr. Kelfala Marah, who served in the last All People’s Congress (APC) Government as Chief of Staff at State House, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, and Bank Governor of Sierra Leone, will join the fray for the APC flag-bearer race barely six months to the June 2023 multi-tier elections.

Sources close to Dr. Keifala Marah’s camp disclosed that the former Bank Governor will formally declare for the APC flag-bearer position on Saturday 17th December 2022 at Mongo, Falaba District in the North-East Region.

Dr. Kaifala Marah hails from Falaba District where the majority of indigenes are supporting him to become the presidential candidate for the main opposition APC.

Meanwhile, the latest APC stalwart to declare for the flag-bearer position is the erstwhile Minister of Transport and Aviation in the last APC administration, Hon. Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, who also served as Minister of Works and Infrastructure.

Apart from Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, who was the APC presidential candidate for the March 2018 presidential election and is currently leading the race for the 2023 flag-bearer position, many other stalwarts in the party are also expected to declare for that coveted position before their convention early next year, including former Vice President Samuel Sam Sumana, Alfred Peter Conteh, Dr. Richard Konteh, Ambassador Alimamy Petito Koroma, among others.
