Addressing the press recently regarding report of his intention to pitch tents with the All People’s Congress (APC), the Leader of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) Hon. Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella said that the 2023 general elections is going to be about strategic alliance, with different political parties coming together to battle it out with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
According to Hon. Yumkella, several opposition parties have consented to join the alliance, adding that the vision of the alliance is to improve on the governance system in the country.
The country, he said, is currently facing some governance challenges as according to him, “we are living in a divided nation with increase in violence and political tension.”
He continued that in order to address these issues, there needs to be cooperation among political parties for national cohesion.
