Popular Media Personality and Chief Executive Officer of Reems International SL Limited, Ellen Keister, has officially launched the Liam Reems Foundation on Friday 24th March, 2023 at the Freetown City Council Auditorium.

According to Standard times Newspaper, the foundation is a way of remembering her son “Liam who passed away nine months after birth, and also give hope to persons dealing with grief as a result of the demise of loved one.

The Presidential Adviser on Mental Health in the office of the President, Dr. Carol Labor in her statement said everyone has mental issues even though it varies.

She noted that every pain makes a person who they are and for Ellen Keister, her pain has evolved into a passion and purpose.

She furthered that Trust, safety, integrity, transparency,, and accountability are very important tools in dealing with mental issues and encouraged Ellen to keep up the good work and not to relent because she is a strong woman.

Delivering the keynote address, the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Mohamed Haji-Kella said mental health is a way of thinking of individual wellbeing and how they take things at a particular time.

He said Liam is resting in peace and her mother did not decide to seat on the problem but rather share it out so as to control everything around her.

Consoling her, he said the government is solidly behind her in this bold steps of tackling mental health in the country and also her strides in helping the entertainment industry. launching the Liam foundation, the CEO of Reems Entertainment Ms. Ellen Keister said Liam Reems Foundation serves as a subsidiary to Reems International, with focus on persons dealing with grief and resulting effects from the demise of loved one.

She said they are a non-political, nor profit making organization, that is registered as a charitable organization.

We seek to raising funds towards achieving our goals and our vision is to see a society where mental and behavioural health of children, youth, women and persons with disability are significantly improved. Liam Reems Foundation is here to strive and significantly improve the mental and behavioural health of children, youth, men, women, and per, sons with disabilities through advocacy, capacity building, counseling, awareness raising, protection and psy, and psychosocial support for victims, she said.’

The CEO thanked all that stood by her and use the occasion to cut a cake as the date marked the Late Liam’s birthday.

She said the foundation’s core values are integrity, safety, trust, respect, commitment, transparency, diversity, and resilience, as their strategic goals include building a strong relationship with other organizations that share similar goals, youth capacity building, mentorship programs, providing therapists, education and behabehavioralilitators to improve the lives of children and adolescents by meeting their basic physical, mental and social needs amongst others.
