Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship the Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda has on Wednesday, 5th March, 2025 paid a surprise visit to the Ross Road Magistrates’ Courts.

As noted by the Chief Justice, the visit aimed to evaluate the dedication of Magistrates and Court Registrars in their roles within the justice administration.

“The monitoring will continue to achieve my vision of delivering justice for all,” he stated, underscoring his ongoing efforts to enhance the functionality of the courts.

Known for his usual visits to various departments within the justice system, magistrates have recognized his efforts a dedication to transparency and accountability within the justice administration.

Previously, Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda together with other Justices of the Superior Courts of Judicature concluded an official tour of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone (RSCSL).

Acording to the Principal Defender of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone, Ibrahim Sorie Yilla, the tour was to bring the Chief Justice and the management of the Judiciary up to speed with the work of the Court in line with its mandate.

The Chief Justice’s commitment to monitoring the performance of the courts is deemed as one that reflects a determination to ensure that justice is not only served but is also perceived to be served in a fair and timely manner for all individuals.
