An 85-year-old politician who joined the APC party in 1963 has found himself in a state of dilemma after he discovered that his application to be enrolled at the Sierra Leone Law School has been turned down and rejected by the institution of law-making lawyers in the country.

The Sierra Leone Law School was established in 1990 with the principal objective to train Sierra Leoneans to become well discipline legal practitioners that are very knowledgeable in law.

It was aimed at reducing the cost incurred by Sierra Leoneans who proceeded to foreign countries such as the United Kingdom to be trained as Lawyers. With the establishment of the Sierra Leone Law School, several Sierra Leoneans have gone through the school and emerge victorious in their practice.

Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, the 85-year-old Secretary General of one of the oldest political parties in Sierra Leone did not fulfil certain key criteria for admission into the country’s Law School. He graduated from the Legion Law School in Ghana with an LLB, but key subjects that should have facilitated his admission journey to the Law School in Sierra Leone were left out. This includes Constitutional, Customary law and others. The applicant was refused admission and did not bother to redo the programme because of his age, time and political engagement since his return back home. He therefore cannot be called either a Barrister or Solicitor of the High Court because he did not sit to the Bar Exams and pass it.

Standard Times Newspaper reports that, he is a graduate of Law Faculty. His recent vocation as perceived by a number of APC supporters and observers is how to destroy political parties.

Recently put out posters on social media and his pictures indicating that he is vying for the position of Chairman of the APC party. If he wins, many people are saying, it will be the end of the All People’s Congress party. His policy is not for the promotion of the party but how he can manipulate the party for his selfish interest, and maximize his opportunities even if that is the end of the party, he won’t care about it as long his interest is protected.
