The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has announced a return to the old curriculum, replacing the new system that was previously introduced.
In the statement, the Ministry urged all school authorities, educators, and stakeholders to take note that the implementation of the New Curriculum system has been discontinued. This decision follows a comprehensive review, during which the Honorable Minister of Education determined that teaching the New Curriculum was not beneficial, as it had not been approved by WAEC.
Effective immediately, all schools are instructed to revert to the Old Curriculum system and ensure that teaching aligns with WAEC-approved subjects and content. Changes to key subjects include replacing Business English with English Language and Literature in English replacing Popular Literature.
School heads are advised to promptly revise lesson plans and timetables in accordance with this directive. The MBSSE cited that they will provide additional guidance as needed. “For further clarification or support, individuals are encouraged to contact their respective District Education Office,” they said, expressing that this adjustment aims to ensure that students receive a quality education that aligns with WAEC standards.
See how wasteful these people are, after spending an wasting billions of tax payers money in the name of printing books 📚📚 for the new curriculum of no use. See what’s unfortunate about the entire thing by so call Minister of Education “The New curriculum have been discontinued”. May God help this Nation.
