The United States Embassy in Freetown has announced the arrival of Meghan Moore as the new Chargé d’Affaires to Sierra Leone.

Before her appointment in Freetown, Moore served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo.

Her diplomatic career spans assignments across Africa, Europe, and South America, including postings in Liberia, Nigeria, Hungary, Pakistan, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has also held senior leadership positions in Washington, D.C.

In a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy, Moore expressed enthusiasm about her new role, saying she looks forward to engaging with the people of Sierra Leone, experiencing the country’s rich culture, and further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the United States and Sierra Leone.
