The Ministry of Western Region has boosted women engaging in Farming activities in Six Mile Village in the Koya Chiefdom with Fifteen bags of groundnut seed, and 25 bags of Fertiliser as a means to support their fruitful endeavour.

This project is targeting fifty one women and two locations have been identified with five acres of land( Maparia and Magbanamati) fifty ominine women and two locations have been identified with five acres of land( Maparia and Magbanamati)

In recent years, most of these women are being engaged in farming activi Bnties with less support from the government or any government officials, the Minister of Western Region Mrs Nabeela F. Tunis softly decided to boost women residing in that part of the city with such farming equipment due to challenges they are faced with and ensure that they produce more which will earn them cash to support their livelihoods.

As part of President Julius Maada Bio Midterm development cluster two projects to help increase rural economic productivity in line with Sustainable Development goals one to reduce hunger and produce sufficient food, the during for the groundnut is going to three months.

When addressing other colleague women present, Chairlady Mami Koroma catalogued the importance of this project to women in that part of the country. “We appreciated the concern and passion Mrs Nabeela Tunis has been showing to us, this has demonstrated the vision President Julius Maada Bio has to capacity women for them to be more productive in their home” she registered.

In conclusion, the Minister plead to fellow women to embrace this opportunity as her doors are also open to give them the necessary support because President Bio has delegated the responsibility to her in order to see that women within the region are being featured in developmental activities.
