The Ministry of Finance has just released a list of players and technical staffs of Leone Stars that are going to benefit from the $10,000 gift promised by the president.

This list contains 41 names, 11 officials and 30 footballers.

The funds released was paid into the accounts of the National Sports Authority NSA, and they are going to do the distribution of the said funds to the targeted beneficiaries.

The release reads as follow:

PAYMENTS TO LEONE STARS FOOTBALL TEAM AS PRONOUNCED BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE, BRIG. (RTD) DR. JULIUS MAADA BIO

The Ministry of Finance wishes to inform the General Public that Government has paid the sum of Le4,100,000,000 into the bank account of the National Sports Authority (NSA) in fulfillment of the pronouncement made by His Excellency, the President, Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio to 30 Players and 11 Technical Officials of Sierra Leone’s National Football Team, Leone Stars, as bonus for the Country’s qualification to theAfrican Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2022 Football Tournament.

Therefore, the National Sports Authority will transfer to individual beneficiary bank accounts directly the Leone equivalent of $10,000 (that is Le 100,000,000) each.

The list was prepared by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), endorsed by the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority and the Minister of Sports, and graciously approved by His Excellency, the President.
