The National Covid Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) has on Tuesday 14 June 2022 revealed that they will terminate all personnel contracts, effectively 30 June 2022.

NaCOVERC was set up by the government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation when the country started recording COVID 19 cases in September 2020.
Thousands of health workers were employed to work in these facilities across the country.

According to NaCOVERC, they have been directed to close all operations across the country as the normal health system framework will continue.

“NaCOVERC has been directed to initiate the closure of its operations nation wide as soon as possible,” the Center stated.

“However, the government of Sierra Leone COVID 19 response will continue within the normal health systems framework”.

NaCOVERC added that, “In this regard all contracts that were issued to all personnel at the beginning of June will be terminated effective 30th June 2022”.

NaCOVERC recalled that there is a clear clause in all contracts issued that engagement with NaCOVERC can be terminated by either in writing for employee’s or employers operational reason.
