The New Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt has familiarized himself with some Sierra Leonean food at the Toma Resort, Cape Road Aberdeen in Freetown.

After his strategic visit to the resort, a statement from the Embassy reads “You recommended, we listened! Based on your tips, Ambassador Hunt tried some Salone favorites today, including some delicious cassava leaf, cassava and beans, groundnut stew and ginger beer. Thanks for the hospitality Toma Resort, Cape Road Aberdeen”

As he recently presented his credentials to the government of Sierra Leone, Bryan David Hunt was publicly sworn in as the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Sierra Leone on August 23, 2023. He replaced David Reimer who was appointed as United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Sierra Leone on January 19, 2021.

Prior to his current appointment, Hunt served as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the U.S. Transportation Command from July 2022 to July 2023. He served as Office Director for South Sudan and Sudan in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs from August 2019 to July 2022 and concurrently as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Africa and the Sudans from January 2021 to October 2021.
