The National Revenue Authority (NRA), through its Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) Department, has commenced a provincial training programme for surveyors from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning in Makeni City, Bombali District, as part of efforts to digitise service fee payments and improve revenue collection systems.

The training focuses on equipping surveyors with practical knowledge on the use of the NTR Payment Mobile App while also sensitising stakeholders on the broader benefits of digital reforms across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) that provide paid public services. The current phase of the initiative covers Port Loko District, Makeni City, Karene, Kono, Kambia, and Falaba Districts, following a similar rollout previously conducted in the southern and eastern regions.
The exercise builds on earlier efforts in Freetown in June 2026, where the NRA, in collaboration with Blue Ribbon Solutions SL Limited, trained Ministry of Lands personnel and distributed fourteen tablets to support the implementation of the mobile payment system.

The NTR Mobile App is designed to modernise non-tax revenue collection by enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the processing of service fees. The initiative aligns with the NRA’s broader objective of leveraging digital technology to strengthen public financial management and support the government’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.
As part of the engagement strategy, the NRA also conducts simulcast radio programmes after each session, featuring key officials including the Ministry’s Principal Accountant, Moinina V.J.L. Kopoi, Esq., NRA ICT Manager Thomas Tiffa, and NTR representatives Khadijatu Bangura-Kargbo and Haja Boi Fofanah, to further educate the public on the system.

The provincial training drive highlights the NRA’s continued commitment to improving non-tax revenue administration while enabling MDAs to deliver faster, more transparent, and accountable services to citizens.
