Membership of the Council of Paramount Chiefs from Bo district have accused some contractors implementing government projects in their chiefdoms of molesting them.

Expressing their views at an engagement with members of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate (NaMED) in Bo Town, the Chiefs said the government does not inform them about the implementation of development projects in their respective chiefdoms.

“We do not know the implementation od development projects in our Chiefdoms. We are facing lots of molestations and embarrassment from the contractors whenever we go to get update on the implementation of these projects,” the chief said, insisting that, they want to be part of any project that is being implemented in their respective chiefdoms.

‘They accused some contractors of doing bad work, while others are not completing the work in line with the contract agreement. They said their engagement with officials of NaMED will help them to monitor the implementation of these projects.

Responding, the Director General of NaMED, Dr. James Edwin emphasized that the engagement iis for traditional leaders to start to monitor all development projects being implemented in their respective chiefdoms. He called on them to always repot their findings for urgent government intervention. This development he said will help to bring development in their areas.
