The Office of the Clerk of Parliament has issued an official public notice announcing that the Paramount Chief Representative for Kailahun District, Hon. PC Cyril Foray Gondor II, is critically ill.
The notice, released by parliamentary authorities, highlighted Chief Gondor II’s vital leadership role in bridging national legislation with traditional administration in Sierra Leone. As a Paramount Chief Member of Parliament (PCMP), he serves as a key intermediary, ensuring that rural communities and traditional governance systems are directly represented within the country’s legislative process.
There are speculations that the Paramount Chief could be dead, but that tradition forbids such announcement.
This has prompted concern among colleagues and constituents across Kailahun District, where Paramount Chiefs play an essential role in maintaining local authority, cultural heritage, and community development.
Further updates from Parliament regarding Chief Gondor II’s condition and official proceedings are expected in the coming days.
