Pastor Mambu, Minister Kpaka Celebrate Major Rice Harvest in Bombali
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Henry Musa Kpaka, on 23 October 2026, joined the General Overseer of Faith Healing Bible Church, Pastor Francis A. M. Mambu, to harvest rice from his 240-hectare farm and inspect 1,000 bags of rice packaged and ready for sale in Makeni and Freetown.
With support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security through the Food System Resilience Project (FSRP), Pastor Mambu’s efforts highlight how religious leaders can also contribute to the Feed Salone agenda.
“I am a pastor and a farmer at the same time. This year, I cultivated around 360 hectares of rice in Bombali (240 ha) and in Bonthe (120 ha). A farm that I started in 2007 with a hoe and cutlass has turned into a sustainable investment that supports 600 women and young people in 10 villages. For me, I view farming as both a pathway to lifting people out of poverty and a biblical calling,” said Pastor Mambu.
Minister Kpaka commended Pastor Mambu for combining religious leadership with agricultural enterprise and contributing to national food production while serving his congregation.

The Minister assured him of the Government’s support to enable him to contribute to the Feed Salone agenda and create more jobs for women and young people.
Minister Kpaka concluded by calling on other religious leaders to follow Pastor Mambu’s example by investing in agriculture and mobilising their congregations to produce more food, in response to President Julius Maada Bio’s call for collective action to strengthen food security through Feed Salone.
