State House sources last night confirmed the resignation of the first-ever Chairman of the newly created Independent Commission For Peace and National Cohesion, Sheka Mansaray.

Mr. Mansaray resigned on medical g, rounds.
Before he was appointed Chairman of the ICPNC, Mr. Mansaray served as Secretary to the President at the State House serving former Presidents Ahmad Tejan Kabba and Ernest Bai Koroma. He also served as National Security Adviser to President Kabba at the State House.

Mr. Mansaray is a seasoned administrator. The Independent Commission For Peace and National Cohesion is a creation of an Act of Parliament. It was created in 2021 to promote peace, reconciliation, and unity in Sierra Leone.

According to State House sources, a new Chairman is to be appointed soon.
