In a press release dated September 17, 2025, the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone cautioned the public against the use of Diclofenac Tablets imported by Leigh Pharmaceuticals, located at No. 10 Regent Road, Freetown.

According to the Board, the product is illegal and its effectiveness cannot be guaranteed. The release further explained that the tablets are a counterfeit version of Paludic, a registered pharmaceutical product authorized by Abanita Pharmaceuticals.

The Board warned that the use of the counterfeit Diclofenac Tablets poses serious health risks and urged the public to report any information related to its storage or distribution through the appropriate regulatory channels.

The statement reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to safeguarding public health and reassured citizens that measures are being taken to protect them from substandard and counterfeit drugs.

For more information or clarification, the public is encouraged to contact the Registrar, Dr. James P. Komeh, on +232-99-177177 / +232-73-994830, email [email protected], or visit the official website at www.pharmacyboard.gov.sl.
