The Sierra Leone Police in the Eastern district of Kono have started investigations into the alleged arson attack on the home of Diana Konomanyi.
Key eyewitness, a certain Tamba Momoh alleged that before the house was razed, about close to two dozen people stood outside the said home.
Momoh said he saw the men throwing containers of fire into the house of the former government minister. The eyewitness said the men belong to the ruling SLPP supporters.
Also, allegations pointed at Konomanyi’s party the APC citing suspicion that she has joined the SLPP. But both the party and Konomanyi’s brother have denied the allegation. The brother, however, stated that Konomanyi was displeased with statement questioning her relevance in the party.
Some members at the higher echelons of the SLPP have also been accused but the police are yet to confirm.
Meanwhile the APC and some senior party members have sent their support and sympathy to Konomanyi while calling on the police for speedy investigation.
