The African Union (AU) and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) has sent a congratulatory letter to the President elect of the Republic of Sierra Leone-His Excellency Julius Maada Bio.

“On behalf of the Continental Secretariat of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and the entire APRM family, I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency my warmest congratulations on your landslide victory in the presidential elections held on 24th June 2023. Your impressive re-election clearly demonstrates the solid trust and confidence that the people of Sierra Lone have in Your Excellency’s leadership and dedication lo democratic governance and prosperity of Sierra Leone.

As the Chairperson of the APR Forum of Heads of State and Government, the APRM is immensely pleased to know that under your leadership, Sierra Leone will continue for inspire the Mechanism for increased accession and entrenchment of good governance principles in Africa.

I, therefore, would like to seize this opportunity to reiterate APRM readiness to work closely with Your Excellency and the government of Sierra Leone in the various stages of the APRM, and ensure that in line with your directive, Sierra Leone presents its Second-Generation Review at the forthcoming APR Forum.

The President of the Republic Of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated president Bio over his re-election as president for the Republic Of Sierra Leone in the June 24th elections.

On the auspicious occasion of your victory at the recently held presidential polls, it gives me great pleasure to convey, on behalf of the government and people of the republic of Ghana and in my own name, warmest congratulations to you, Excellency, the government and brotherly people of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

It is my sincere hope that your second term of office will further enhance the strides that Sierra Leone has made under your leadership in the steady accomplishment of the development agenda of your country.

The President for the State of Palestine, H.E Mahmoud Abbas has also congratulated President Bio on his re-election as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. the Rt. Hon. Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Estwatini has congratulated President Bio. H.E General Umaro Sissoco Embalo, President of Guinea-Bissau has congratulated President Bio over the landslide victory in the June 24th Election.
