The Leadership of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has engaged a strategic team from EcoBank Sierra Leone to discuss partnership opportunities for sustained institutional growth and development. Today, Thursday, May 29th, 2025.

The Deputy Managing Director of SALWACO, Apostle Dr. Albert Harrison Harvey (Ag. MD), said that the meeting was a significant one that has the potential to expand growth and development opportunities. He assured the Eco Bank team of the company’s full cooperation in making sure that set targets and enviable needs are achieved.

Making a presentation, SALWACO’s Director of Research, Planning and Policy, Saffa SK Bockarie, touched on the moves the company had made in making sure that water is provided for people, while hitting on the next possible targets to get support and investments.

The Eco Bank team encouraged strategic management and prudent agendas that will drive the sustainability and reliability of the proposed action points. It was made clearer that while some aspects of the investments will be open grants, the broader aspects of business and profitability should not be treated with levity.

The SALWACO Board Chairman, Joe Jonathan Ndanema underscored the importance of the engagement and proposed to cascade the information to the country’s political leadership, with a focus on ensuring that accurate information is shared and accordingly, in the interest of strategic political leadership/decision making.

SALWACO’s Director of Commercial Services, Mohamed Aziz Waggay, spoke on ensuring reasonableness and reliability on the part of the commercial aspect of the project, adding that SALWACO has what it takes to make sure that things are carried out accordingly.

Also present during the engagement were, SALWACO’s Director of Finance, Frank Lahai Kamara, Director of ICT, Moses Daniel Kon Sopay, Finance Manager, Neneh Kamara, Capital and Development Manager, Ing. Marilyn George, Logistics Manager, Daphne Greenwood, Planning and Policy Manager, Chrisla Koroma, Senior Communications Officer, Sheku Putka Kamara (Ag. Director of Communication, Gender and Outreach) and Vandi Deborah Maria Musa, Admin/Secretary attached to the office of the DMD.

The meeting took place at the SALWACO Boardroom at Tower Hill in Freetown.
