The Former first lady of Sierra Leone, Madam Sia Nyama Koroma is set to serve as a Guest Speaker at the Institute for Lifecourse Development( ILD) Public Talk held at the University of Greenwich.

The ILD Public Lecture hosted by the Global Maternal and Newborn Health Hub of the ILD, is slated for Thursday the 8th December, 2022.

This year’s topic is: ‘Mainstreaming traditional and religious leaders in maternal and child reduction efforts in Sierra Leone.’

During the symposium, Her Excellency, Sia Nyama Koroma, will share her first-hand experiences in engaging traditional and religious leaders in maternal newborn and child mortality reduction efforts in Sierra leone.

Sia Nyama Koroma is Sierra Leonean biochemist and psychiatric nurse who is also a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing.

She has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a Master of Science degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry in the United Kingdom.

Madam Koroma served as First Lady of Sierra Leone from 17 September 2007 – 4 April 2018. She is the wife of Ernest Bai Koroma, the 4th President of Sierra Leone.
