The Sierra Leone Ministry of Health has released an update on the Mpox situation in the country, reporting 11 new confirmed cases as of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM. This brings the total number of active cases to 58.
According to the official data released by the National Public Health Agency, the cumulative number of confirmed Mpox cases in Sierra Leone has reached 83. While there were 11 new cases reported, only 2 recoveries were recorded, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 24. The country has recorded one death related to Mpox.
The geographical distribution of the active cases shows a concentration in the Western Urban area, with 61 cases. Other affected districts include Bombali (3), Karene (1), Moyamba (2), Port Loko (2), Tonkolili (3), and Western Rural (9). The Bo and Bonthe districts each have 2 cases.
The gender breakdown of confirmed cases reveals that 61 cases are male, while 22 are female.
The National Public Health Agency urges the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Mpox.
