Sierra Leone Hosts 32nd WCO West and Central Africa Customs Directors-General Conference
Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has announced that Sierra Leone is hosting the 32nd Conference of Directors-General of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) West and Central Africa Region.
The high-level meeting has brought together more than 150 technical experts from 28 countries to deliberate on key customs issues under the theme: “A Customs that protects society through its vigilance and commitment.”
The Commissioner-General of the National Revenue Authority, Jeneba Bangura—who also serves as Chairperson of the African Tax Administration Forum and is a member of a United Nations expert group—joined Deputy Commissioner-General I, Ann Marie Harding, and senior officials in welcoming delegates to the conference.
The event is expected to be officially opened by President Julius Maada Bio later today.
The conference highlights Sierra Leone’s role in regional and international customs cooperation and its commitment to strengthening systems for effective oversight and enforcement.
