Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner in Ghana Presents Letters of Credence in Burkina Faso
Umu Bah His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, Sierra Leone’s non-resident Ambassador to Burkina Faso and high commissioner resident in Accra, Ghana, has on Thursday, 26th June 2025, formally presented his Letters of Credence to Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Burkina Faso.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Koulouba, Ouagadougou.
During the presentation, Ambassador Kaisamba extended warm greetings starting from his excellency President Julius Maada Bio, his government, and the people of Sierra Leone to President Traore and the people of Burkina Faso.
He discussed the historical and diplomatic ties between the two nations, shedding light on their shared resilience and hard work to progress and dignity in Africa.
Ambassador Kaisamba promised to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, and to work closely with Burkina Faso’s ministries and agencies to promote mutually beneficial engagements.
President Ibrahim Traore thanked President Bio for emerging the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), showing confidence in his leadership to address regional challenges.
President Traore also talked about the importance of African unity and collaboration in overcoming challenges in agriculture, security, peace, and energy, saying the continent is destined for greatness.
The ceremony included eight ambassadors, representing India, Türkiye, Cuba, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone, Luxembourg, and Bangladesh. Ambassador Kaisamba was accompanied by senior members of the Sierra Leonean diplomatic team, including Mr. Aiah Edwin Mbawa, Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery; Ms. Princetta Williams, Information Attaché; and Mr. Abraham Wetiouga KOUTIANGBA, Sierra Leone’s Honorary Consul in Burkina Faso.
