Sierra Leone’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Barrie, joined a high-level diplomatic reception in Riyadh on Sunday marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, underscoring ongoing diplomatic engagement among foreign missions in the Kingdom.
The event was hosted by Tajikistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Saudi Arabia, Akram Karimi, to commemorate Tajikistan’s Independence Day, observed annually on Sept. 9. The reception highlighted more than three decades of Tajik statehood following its 1991 independence.
Ambassador Karimi, who has represented Tajikistan in Saudi Arabia since August 31, 2020, welcomed members of the diplomatic corps and other guests to the celebration, which featured representatives from multiple embassies accredited to Riyadh.
Among the attendees was Riyadh Region Mayor Prince Dr Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, who joined diplomats and officials at the gathering, reflecting the event’s broad international and local participation.
The reception brought together envoys and senior representatives from various countries, offering a platform for informal diplomatic exchange and reaffirmation of bilateral and multilateral relations within the Kingdom’s diplomatic community.
