The Sierra Leone National Fire Force has in their recent official report, confirmed a total number of Two Hundred and one (201) fire incidents nationwide, as recorded from the 1st January to the 31st March, 2025, with six (6) non-firefighting rescue operations conducted in the Western Region.
The official report, which was addressed to the Honorable Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Morie Lengor Esq., provided a detailed account of the various structures that were affected in all the regions in the country.
According to the report, the fire incidents hit One Hundred and Ten Houses, Two Schools, Fourteen Vehicles, Four Transformer, Seven Electrical Pole, Eleven Shops, Four Store, Four Generator, Ten Ground Cover, Six Trees, Two Bushes, Fifteen Dustbins, Two Salon, Two Garage, and Eight facilities.
The report went further to confirm that in the month of January, thirty-five fire incidents were recorded in the Western Region, Ten in the Southern Region, Three in the Northern East Region, Two in the North West Region, and eight in the Eastern Region.
For the month of February, it recorded Thirty-eight fire incidents for the Western Region, Twelve in the Southern Region, Two in the Northern East Region, Two in the North West Region, and Sixteen in the Eastern Region.
It also confirmed that, for the month of March, Forty-six fire incidents were recorded for the Western Region, Thirteen for the Southern Region, Four for the North East Region, Three for the North West Region, and Eight for the Eastern Region.
As detailed above, the month of March recorded the highest number of fire incidents nationwide, showing a total number of Seventy-four fire incidents, followed by the month of February, which recorded Seventy fire incidents, and January with Fifty-seven fire incidents.
Fire incidences across is too alarming.
It’s not good for the country in any respect.
What is missing though, are the causes of all or most of those fire outbreaks.
The people of this country should know what are the causes.
Blames are casted and have overshadowed over the rampant bad-electricity of their on-off energy power supply.
