The Government of Sierra Leone has increased the pump price of fuel including petrol, diesel and kerosene from nine thousand five hundred (Le9,500) to ten thousand Leones (Le10,000).

Officials of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) told Sierraloaded that this development came after serious pressure form Oil Marketing Companies to increase the pump price of the fuel.

The Oil Marketing Companies are claiming that they are buying their products in United States dollars, noting that the exchange rate is one of their major challenges in the business but the Executive Director of Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) Dr. Baluwa Koroma is working round the clock to convince the oil declares to put on hold the new price.

Just Few weeks ago, the government announce the pump price from eight thousand five hundred Leones (Le8,500) for one litre to nine thousand five hundred Leones (Le9,500).
