Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Information and Civic Education is set to take its national civic dialogue to the United States with a special edition of its Civic Day series during the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81).

Dubbed “Civic Day USA Edition,” the event is designed to extend Sierra Leone’s ongoing national conversation to citizens, members of the Sierra Leonean diaspora, and international partners based in the United States.

The event is scheduled for September 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at In Daylight Studio, 450 W 31st Street, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Organised under the government’s #SaloneBigPasWiAll campaign, the initiative seeks to promote civic engagement, public participation, and civic education beyond Sierra Leone’s borders.

The Ministry said the event will provide an opportunity for Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora and other stakeholders to participate in the country’s ongoing national dialogue at a time when world leaders and representatives from across the globe are gathering in New York for the UN General Assembly.

The Civic Day USA Edition forms part of the broader Civic Day Series, which focuses on encouraging citizens to engage in national conversations and strengthen their understanding and participation in civic affairs.
