A contingent of 45 instructors from the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), including female military personnel, has traveled to Ghana to undergo a seven-week professional training course.
The group of instructors departed Sierra Leone on Friday, July 17, 2026.
According to Brigadier General Kwame Francis Kanu, the Assistant Chief of Defence Staff for Training, Doctrine, and Education, the overseas program is designed to improve the instructional capacity and overall professional competence of the RSLAF.
He noted that the training curriculum aligns with both current international military standards and the specific operational requirements of the Sierra Leonean armed forces.
The deployment is part of a broader military capacity-building initiative spearheaded by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Amara Idara Bangura.
The details of the training mission were officially confirmed in a Tuesday news brief issued by Lieutenant Colonel Yayah Brima, the Director of Defence Public Relations and Information.
