SLRSA Boss James Bio Inspects Regional Facilities to Fast-Track Service Modernization
The Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), James Bagie Bio, has inspected the Authority’s facilities in Bo, Kenema and Daru to assess ongoing infrastructure upgrades and monitor plans to expand access to vehicle registration and licensing services.
The inspection tour, conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2026, focused on project progress, operational needs and the Authority’s efforts to decentralise road transport services across the country.
In Bo City, Bio inspected ongoing development work at the Authority’s regional licensing facility, assessed progress and engaged staff on operational requirements. The upgraded facility is expected to improve access to vehicle registration and licensing services across the Southern Region, with completion scheduled for December 2026.

In Kenema, the SLRSA boss visited the facility being upgraded by Autospect Sierra Leone to assess progress and ensure the project remains on schedule. The facility is expected to be completed by March 2027 and is intended to strengthen service delivery in the Eastern Region.
Bio also visited Daru, where preparations are underway to open a new SLRSA station to serve residents and surrounding communities. The facility is expected to be commissioned in December 2026, bringing vehicle registration and licensing services closer to people in the area.

The projects form part of the Authority’s wider decentralisation and modernisation efforts, which align with the Government’s Big Five Game Changers, particularly the fifth pillar, Transforming the Public Service Architecture. The pillar emphasises efficiency, professionalism and improved public service delivery.
Through infrastructure development, its partnership with Autospect Sierra Leone and the expansion of services into underserved communities, the SLRSA aims to improve customer access and strengthen its capacity to deliver efficient and responsive road transport services.

The inspection tour underscores the Authority’s focus on monitoring project implementation and ensuring that the ongoing investments deliver practical improvements for road users and the wider public.
