The Tower Hill Municipal Primary school is among other schools overseen by the Freetown City Council in Freetown.

The school has been faced with a lot of challenges over the years which is affecting both the teachers and pupils of the school.

In a way to help address some of these challenges, Dr. Stanella Beckley with support from her family has decided to fund the construction of a four-classroom block, a staff room, and a resource center for the school in dedication to the memory of her late daughter Renata Williams who attended the school.

The mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki Sawyerr was present and made this public on her Facebook.

“I was at Tower Hill Municipal Primary school this morning with Dr. Stanella Beckley. We are truly grateful to Dr. Beckley who, along with members of her family, is funding the construction of a four-classroom block, a staff room, and a resource center for the school dedicated to the memory of late daughter Renata Williams who attended the school.

I explained to the children how the generosity of the Beckley family is an act of kindness and encouraged them to be kind to others in their way. It was lovely to see the excitement of, the children!

I also dropped into a JSS3 class where pupils were learning about common diseases and used the opportunity to discuss with the pupils the link between cholera, typhoid, diarrhea, malaria, and sanitation. It was a very engaging discussion which I hope will lead to some behavior change”.
