The Statistician-General of Sierra Leone, Andrew Bob Johnny, on Wednesday conducted a monitoring visit to Hill Station, where household enumeration for the ongoing Mock Population and Housing Census is taking place, despite torrential rainfall.
The visit was aimed at reinforcing the importance of accuracy, integrity, and transparency in the data collection process. Mr. Johnny engaged with enumerators and supervisors, observed field activities, and encouraged them to maintain high standards despite the challenging weather conditions.
“This exercise is critical to ensuring that our census process is credible and inclusive,” he told field staff during the engagement.
The Hill Station visit forms part of a wider nationwide monitoring exercise, with similar visits planned for Falaba, Karene, Kenema, Pujehun, and Western Area Rural districts.
Officials said the monitoring initiative is designed to ensure that all stages of the census process are thorough, reliable, and representative, while strengthening public confidence in the exercise.
