Stats SL, Health Ministry Begin Nationwide 2026 Demographic, Health Survey
Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, has commenced nationwide fieldwork for the 2026 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS).
Trained enumerators and supervisors are currently visiting households across the country to collect demographic and health information as part of the survey.
The 2026 DHS is expected to generate important data on key health and population issues, including maternal and child health, nutrition, family planning, malaria, high blood pressure and other non-communicable diseases.
The findings will provide evidence to support healthcare planning, policy development and broader national development efforts.
Stats SL and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation are calling on households selected for the survey to welcome field teams and provide accurate information to support the exercise.
The institutions said public participation is important to the success of the survey and will contribute to the availability of reliable data for planning better health policies and services across Sierra Leone.
