Teachers in Sierra Leone whom have been advocating for an increment to their salaries, have boldly released a list of the amount of salaries they are expecting from the Government and have threatened to teach no more if their demands are not met.

“NO BETTER PAY FOR TEACHERS, NO SCHOOL”

We are calling the attention of the government that, this time, we deserve better quality pay like any other citizens in this country” They said.

“We are expecting the teachers salaries to be increased by the following indications below.
TC 3,500,000
HTC 3,800,000
B.Ed. 4,500,000.
MASTERs 5,500,000.
Without these conditions, no school” they threatened.

They suggests that the salaries and allowances of politicians, Judges, and all other civil servants should be reduced to enable their salary increment with immediate effect,
Or else they will not continue to teach in the various schools .

“TEACHERS, unite this time” They ended.

For quite some time now, these teachers have been requesting for their salaries to be increased a bit just so they can survive. They are not asking for much but yet still they have not been heard.

With the way things are going, they are more determined this time around to do as they threatened. it is high time the Government listened to their cries and see to their demands before things gets out of hands
