Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has reacted to his removal from the position by President Julius Maada Bio, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country.

In a brief statement following the change, Kabba said he was grateful to God for giving him the opportunity to serve Sierra Leone and thanked President Bio for the confidence placed in him during his tenure.

“I have run a great race. I thank God Almighty for the grace to serve this nation and Mr. President, Julius Maada Bio, for the opportunity,” Kabba stated.

He also expressed appreciation to individuals who supported him during his time in public service, saying he remained “truly grateful and indebted” to those who contributed to his achievements.

Kabba further congratulated his successor, describing newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Rahman Swarray as his “dear elder brother” and wishing him success in his new role.

“Best wishes to my dear elder brother; Hon. Rahman Swarray in his new role,” he wrote.

Kabba ended his message with “Alhamdulillah,” signalling gratitude as he leaves the Foreign Affairs portfolio after serving in the position.

President Bio’s decision forms part of the latest changes to his administration, with Swarray taking over the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
