University of Makeni (UNIMAK) Removes English Language as Entry Requirement For RN Programme
Mohamed Aruna The University of Makeni (UNIMAK) has removed English Language as an entry requirement for new students for the 2023/2024 academic year who may wish to pursue the RN Programme.
The university made the announcement on the 11th October, 2023 giving their admission criteria.
They announced application for admission to pursue the Diploma in General Nursing opened at the University’s website.
Giving the Entry Requirement, they stressed that Prospective candidates for the RN Programme must have reached the age of eighteen (18) years and not exceed the age of forty (40) years. The English Language was initially part of the compulsory entry requirement by the university as stated; thus, “ The candidates must possess WASCE with at least a minimum credit C6 or better in not more than 2 sittings in English Language, Mathematics or further mathematics, Biology/Health science, Chemistry plus any other science related subject”
The University administration further intimated the public that they have reconsidered offering space to candidates who have all other requirements stated above and do not have a minimum C6 in English to apply immediately and come for an interview on Friday 13th October, 2023 at the St. John of God Campus, Lunsar.
