The University of Management and Technology UNIMTECH has launched a state of the art Mining Laboratory in its Bo Campus Southern Sierra Leone.

This development seeks to improve and contribute significantly to the growth of students that are pursuing Mining Engineering, Mining Management. It is also established for research purposes by any internal or international expert.

The event was grace by different respective such as Australian expert, MP’s, Paramount Chiefs, Ministry of Mines, Tertiary Education Commission, Sierra Rutile, Vimetco, Nigerian High Commission and others.

Meanwhile, the lab is filled with ultra-modern mining equipment to simplify and carry out its conventional objective. In a closed-door engagement with the Chancellor of the University Professor Paul Kamara, he started by appreciating the team that has contributed significaUNIMTECH ntly to the construction and positioning of the facility, he showed a willingness to do more in building the future leaders of Sierra Leone and quality will never be compromised. He concluded.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Rosaline E. Uyanga describes the launch as historic and meaningful foUNIMTECH r the growth of education and building the middle-level manpower of the state. This structure will help contribute to the extractive industry.

She urged students to use the facility well and prepare themselves for the job market. She stimulated all and sundry to fully utilize the facility as more action will be carried out going forward.

The Dean of Technology Professor Patrick Taylor assured members of the administration and students of his commitment to building the Technology unit for students’ suitability.

The Students’ Union President Emmanuel Browne extends his deepest appreciation to the university administration for setting up such an educative structure as it will be adequately managed he ended.
