Final-year nursing and midwifery students at the University of Sierra Leone have been told that signing-out activities will not be permitted on campus.
The directive was contained in a notice issued by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery under the university’s College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS).
The notice, addressed to all final-year students, states that “NO SIGNING-OUT ACTIVITY IS ALLOWED ON CAMPUS.”
Students were also urged to comply with the directive, although the notice did not provide a reason for the restriction or indicate whether alternative arrangements had been approved.
The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery is part of COMAHS, a constituent college of the University of Sierra Leone. The faculty offers nursing and midwifery programs, including undergraduate and professional training.
The university’s current academic structure includes COMAHS among its constituent colleges, with nursing among the programs offered through the institution.
The directive means students completing their programs will not be allowed to hold signing-out activities within the campus grounds under the faculty’s stated rule.
The notice is signed by the acting dean and BSc program coordinator, according to the document circulated to students.
