The U.S. Embassy Sierra Leone has called for the submission of proposals for a funding opportunity for the 2024 Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Program for local groups/organizations.

According to the Embassy, the Proposals should focus on supporting projects that address a critical community need that is sustainable and continue to provide benefits long after the expiration of the project. Grant awards range from $2,000 – $10,000. Deadline is May 31st.

This is a program specifically designed to ensure the Ambassador can quickly respond to requests for assistance from village groups or organizations and communities throughout Sierra Leone. The program also seeks to promote interaction between the people from the United States of America and local communities in Sierra Leone’

The program aims to encourage self-reliance within local communities by providing some of the resources they need to a good idea into action.
