New Vice Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone Donates Le28,400 for Kingtom Dressing Room Refurbishment
The newly elected Vice Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL), David Nelson Williams, has donated Twenty-Eight Thousand Four Hundred New Leones (NLe 28,400.00) to refurbish the existing dressing room at the Kingtom Oval in Freetown.
The donation was presented as part of his personal contribution to the association to support ongoing infrastructural development.
Re-elected CSL Board Chairman Francis Trevor Samura described the gesture as timely, noting that it comes at a crucial moment as the association makes strides to renovate the changing room ahead of the Bravely T20 Premier League 2026.
According to Samura, the funds will be specifically utilized for the replacement of the current steel windows at the dressing rooms with modern sliding windows, aimed at improving ventilation, aesthetics, and overall comfort for players and officials.
“The donation will be utilized for the replacement of the current steel windows at the dressing rooms to slide windows,” Chairman Samura said, while thanking his Vice Chairman for his selflessness and commitment to the growth of the sport.
The contribution came shortly after Vice Chairman Williams had also donated laptop computers to the newly appointed Chairman of the Bravely T20 Premier League, Baimba Mustapha, to support the league’s administrative and logistical preparations.
Stakeholders within the cricket family have welcomed the development, describing it as a strong signal of leadership by example and renewed commitment to upgrading cricket infrastructure in the country.
The Kingtom Oval remains the headquarters of cricket in Sierra Leone and is set to be a major venue for the upcoming Bravely T20 Premier League, which is expected to attract local and international players.
CSL says renovation works at the Oval are ongoing, with more support expected from partners and well-wishers ahead of the new season.
