The West African Bankers Association (WABA) will host its 78th Executive Council Meeting and 42nd General Assembly to discuss issues pertaining to the economy in the sub-region.

The august meeting will take place under the purview of the Sierra Leone Bankers Association, it will bring together stakeholders in the banking sector, Government officials and members of other financial institutions in Sierra Leone and the sub-region.

 

WABA was established on 10 August 1981 based on the recommendations and under the auspices of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of ECOWAS as a regional association including all primary banks, development banks, credit institutions and banking professional bodies existing in West Africa.

Key among the expected speakers are Dr.Walton Ekundao Gilpin President SLACB, Dr. Ibrahim Stevens, Governor Bank of Sierra Leone, Sheku Ahmad Fantamadi Bangura Minister of Finance and Dr. Guy Laurent President WABA.
