WASSCE 2026: SLEC Outlines Steps for Candidates to Challenge Their Grades
Following the announcement of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results on Tuesday, October 27, the Sierra Leone Examinations Council (SLEC) has outlined the procedures for candidates seeking to challenge their grades.
In a post on Facebook, the Minister explained that candidates dissatisfied with their results can apply through their schools to have their examination scripts remarked.
According to the guidance, applications must be submitted within 60 days of the release of results, and candidates are required to pay a fee for the service.
However, candidates whose results have been withheld must wait for SLEC to complete its investigation and make a decision on their cases.
The procedures distinguish between candidates seeking a review of their grades and those whose results remain withheld pending investigations.
Candidates who believe their grades do not reflect their performance are therefore advised to apply through their respective schools within the stipulated period.
The guidance provides candidates with information on the available procedures for addressing concerns about their WASSCE results.
