AYV news report during the day that the suspicious container arrived in Freetown has revealed what really happened before the Sierra Leone Police took custody of it.

According to the narration of an eye witness, the suspicious container arrived at Cline Town in the evening hours and the youth around rushed to offload it, but they were stopped and driven away by armed security personnel.

He however stated that they did not go away and stuck around to witness the situation unfolded.

The eye witness said that they were suspicious of the container because there were different nationalities in it, adding that they were Nigerians, Ghanaians, and Kenyans, claiming that their passports were being held by an Indian national.

He noted that two Sierra Leoneans armed with pistols were with them, claiming that they were from State House.

He further said that even though the container is owned by a private individual, the number plate in it was a police one, with the numbers “SLP 333”.

The eye witness noted that some Indians told them the container belong to them, adding that the Indians told them that there were gizzards in inside of it.

“The Indians told us that they have been tracking their container since 2:00 PM and they have finally seen it after we called the police,” he said.

Journalists, civil society organisations and citizens were all at the scene to investigate the suspicious container.
