An elderly woman has reportedly died while travelling as a passenger in a Kekeh in Freetown, with efforts now underway to identify her family members.

According to a report made on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the woman was travelling in the commercial tricycle when she reportedly died while still inside the vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, and no passenger or other person at the scene was reportedly able to identify her or provide information about her relatives.

Her body is reportedly being kept at the Chinese Hospital in Jui, where it remains pending identification and contact with her family.

Members of the public, particularly those who may recognise the deceased woman or have information about her relatives, are being urged to share the information widely to help reunite her with her family.

The report has also raised concerns about the difficulty of identifying vulnerable or elderly passengers who may travel without readily available contact information for their relatives.

Anyone with credible information about the woman’s identity or family is encouraged to contact the relevant authorities or the hospital to assist with the identification process.
