President Julius Maada Bio on Monday addressed a group of Sierra Leonean women, emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to empower Sierra Leoneans, particularly women and youth.
Reflecting on the progress made under his leadership, the President outlined his vision for the country’s future and the lasting impact of these initiatives.
During the speech, the President said: “I have done everything humanely possible to ensure that you, the people, are part of the country’s development process.” He emphasized the importance of freedom, noting, “The freedom you never got, I have given you people in this country.”
President Bio also mentioned his commitment to empowering women, crediting the First Lady Fatima Bio for her efforts in boosting the confidence and self-esteem of young girls in the country. “Because of the complementary efforts of the First Lady, the girls growing up now have confidence and self-esteem,” he said.
The President added that because of democratic principles and the short time in office, He “won’t be able to change this country”, but “will inspire so many people, and that inspiration will live on…”
President Bio also highlighted the historic achievements in education, noting with pride that “the girls are passing more than boys when it comes to transition exams.” This, he emphasized, is a clear indication of the progress being made in empowering young girls and ensuring they have the opportunities to succeed academically.
He further explained the government’s focus on human capital, saying, “The policies we have introduced are already showing effects, even though they’re still being implemented.” He added that the empowerment of women is a top priority, declaring, “For women, freedom is here.”
As the President wrapped up his speech, he reminded Sierra Leoneans of their importance to the country’s future, saying, “You are the most important resource we have.”
He also praised the unwavering support he received during his time in office, even while outside the country. “Sierra Leoneans, you are good people,” he concluded, encouraging the nation to continue working together for a better future.

The drug dealer who is currently disgracing our country, making us look bad on the international stage, harboring a drug fugutive, has spoken
😁😁😁😁😁
u are a failure PRESIDENT BIO this is what you been failing to talk to people peacefully instead you brutalized
An inspirational leader? Remarkable that no mention was made of the cocaine scandal. And the “gyal who went Ducth” was seen right in the background. Nothing worthy to emulate in a monster, a wicked and vindictive soul who has all but succeeded in dividing this beautiful nation. Don’t know what people were expecting. Or, are they still expecting anything good? Phew…
This is a big blow to the person call him self president Bio,u said u won’t be able change the country because of short term in office, my question is did formal president EBK make short a complain as such.
So your focus is settled your self and your family that is the only mission you have.
Because of you have betray your people and your government have destroyed many innocent lives it’s time now u come to confess you won’t be able to change the country.
If u can’t change your change your then you need to handover to the right person
Please please please I beg you in the name of Allah.
My guy you are stupid, what about EBK bring Ebola in this country kill millions of people because of money at the end of the day no benefit.
D man don fail we
Sierra Leonean are not too ready for change so leave the man.You see nations charging when they are ready to change. From the whole speech áll what you can see is negativism that is an indication of myopic mentality. Very vital issues were highlighted, but guess it cant surface as headlines. Lets start thinking above the lines.
This quote means that while the president acknowledges that they may not have the power to single-handedly change the country, they believe their influence and inspiration will motivate others. Over time, this inspiration will continue to impact people, creating a lasting legacy that can contribute to change in the long run. So, mentioning the shortcomings, he and his administration must have tried their best knowledge, but nothing good to write home about. And, of which he believed his predecessor may fulfill.
Common sense is not bought. Those calling themselves educated elite are the very ones analysing the speech in a negative way to suit them. You will not expect the President and his government to do everything which is impossible but which his predecessor will accomplish in due course because the foundation has already been laid. There are good things this government has done which you are blind to and you will never talk about. Your wish is to see this country deteriorate in the name of politics just because it is not your party that is in power What ever is good for mama Salone you always cry it down.
