“A leopard never changes its spots”. An old African proverb says. The APC (All People’s Congress) yesterday concluded their National Delegates’ Conference in Makeni. As predicted, the twice defeated 2018 Presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara, defeated seventeen other flag bearer aspirants to emerge as the party’s standard bearer for the June 24, 2023 Presidential election.
The party also elected their National Officers (new executive) in Makeni during the three-day National Delegates’ Conference.
The outcome of the APC National Delegates’ Conference clearly shows that, the APC is a Northern-dominated party. The APC can no longer claim to have a national appeal.
The new APC national executive is 95% dominated by people from one region of the country (the Northern Region) and about 85% of the new executive drawn from one tribe.
Instead of electing young and vibrant Politicians to lead the party, the APC have elected old and frail-looking Politicians to man strategic positions in the party. The new National Chairman is Minkailu Mansaray and the Deputy National Chairman is Osman Foday Yansaneh. Same old, same old!
The APC can no longer claim to be a national party. It is a party dominated by one region and few tribes from the North. This clearly shows that the APC is a Northern Party.
All the key positions in the party went to Northerners-National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman, National Secretary General, National Organizing Secretary etc. The APC is a leopard-it never changes its spots.
The people of Sierra Leone now know that, the APC is no longer a national party. It is a regional party comprising few tribes from the North.
APC-same old, same old!
